Chronos ("we", "our", or "us") is built by Twelve Studios. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the Chronos iOS app, how we use it, and your rights around it. We've tried to write this in plain language — if something is unclear, contact us at the address below.
01 Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we may also receive your name and profile photo from those providers.
Workout data. We store the training protocols you create — including interval structure, duration, and intensity ratings — so they are available across your devices.
Voice input. When you use the voice dictation feature to describe a workout, your speech is processed to generate a structured protocol. See Section 4 for details on the third-party service involved.
Garmin device data. If you connect a Garmin watch, we exchange workout structures with the Garmin Connect IQ platform. We do not store data received from your Garmin device beyond what is needed to complete the sync.
Usage data. We may collect basic app usage metrics (screens visited, features used) to improve the product. This data is not linked to your identity.
02 How We Use Your Information
To provide and sync your training protocols across devices.
To authenticate your account securely via Clerk.
To process voice input into structured workouts using AI.
To display your workout history and progress visualizations within the app.
To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
To respond to support requests you send us.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.
03 Data Storage & Security
Your account and workout data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS in the United States). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-level security ensures that only you can read your own data.
Authentication is handled by Clerk, which stores credentials and session tokens. Clerk is SOC 2 Type II certified. We never have access to your password.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
04 Third-Party Services
We use the following third parties to operate Chronos. Each processes data only as necessary to provide their service.
* Voice transcripts sent for AI processing are not used to train models and are not retained by the provider beyond the duration of the request.
05 Device Permissions
Microphone. Used only when you activate voice dictation. Audio is processed in real time to generate workout text. We do not record or store raw audio.
Speech recognition. Used to transcribe your spoken workout description into text. On iOS, this may use Apple's on-device speech framework.
Bluetooth. Used to discover and communicate with your Garmin device. No Bluetooth data is stored on our servers.
You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Chronos.
06 Your Rights
Regardless of where you live, you can:
Access your data — your workout history is always visible in the app.
Delete your account — available in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. All associated data is permanently erased within 30 days.
Export your data — contact us and we'll send you a copy of everything we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data — update your name and email in Settings at any time.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
07 Children
Chronos is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
08 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when we add new features or services. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we'll notify you within the app before they take effect.
